May Randomness!

I've been so bad about blogging lately....Here are some highlights from May!

John turned 30! 30 never looked so good!
I had a great Mother's Day and I was WAY too spoiled.
Ava and I try to find ways to keep ourselves busy...
We go swimming...

 We make nature boxes...

We make tents in the kitchen and mess up each others hair...
 We cover ourselves in stickers...
And we find ways to be even more adorable...(which, by the way is really hard, but somehow we manage to do it)

Update on the Flavs

I need to be better about writing down everything that Ava does. She is hilarious and keeps John and I totally entertained! Here are just some quick things about our little babe.

Ava is so sweet and loving. She literally says "Hi!" and waves at every person we see...every....person. She will see kids at the playground, run over, give them a hug, say "Nice" and then they are new best friends. She also loves to give hugs and kisses.

She has become a picky eater! She LOVES any fruit and vegetable but she won't eat anything else! Her new favorite is to eat whole tomatoes.

She loves doing lots of different things and we have to think of new activities all the time to keep her entertained.
She repeats almost everything we say! I also love that she can tell me exactly what she wants, why she's sad, etc... We also have a "handshake". We do a high-five, knuckles, and then Ava yells "yeah!"
She also says some pretty funny phrases: "Is that so?", "Why so sad?", "I don't know", "Buddy, No!".

She can name almost all of her letters, give the sound, and identify her name, mom, and dad.

She constantly moves! She doesn't really watch TV...not because we don't turn on anything for her, but she has no patience it!

She loves to play with her "cesses" (Princesses). She will sing to them, make them dance, line them up, put them to bed....it's really funny to watch her get into this faze of using her imagination. Princesses, dress up, tea parties...that's our daily agenda.

She is pretty opinionated about her clothes. I will pull an outfit out and she will either get excited or start shaking her head and saying "no, no, no!"

Ava loves to help me clean...here's hoping this lasts another 15 years. She loves to put away dishes and silverware from the dishwasher, mop, vacuum, dust...the whole works! She will say "Help" and then tell herself "you did it" or "awesome" when she's done.

Ava is the best baby ever! She is so happy all the time. I couldn't have been more blessed to have her! Love her!

Easter Weekend

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Ava (*cough* Maren), got really excited about finding eggs and having an Easter basket in the morning. My parents also came down and stayed with us. We played, ate, and went hiking in Zion National Park.

Ava thought Grandpa was hysterical.

Her favorite part of the hike was throwing rocks in the water.
The Lott's let us come over and join in their Easter egg hunt. I guess Ava doing an egg hunt by herself just didn't scream "fun".

I love this little mans cheeks!

Primed and dressed for a victorious hunt.

Seriously, what a babe.
This is her face after I bribed her with a rice krispie treat if she would stand still for a picture.

March Madness...Yep.

First of all, I hate basketball. Seriously, BORING. Am I right? So, if you think this is going to be about basketball, then you are about to feel real dumb.

March has been really fun. We have done TONS of fun things. We've had lots of people visit, we've gone lots of places...craziness. So here it is:

Over my spring break, I made a quick trip to Price and then Utah Valley. We visited some grandparents...

                                                         ...saw some fish at Cabela's...

...went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point...

...went hiking with our friend Sam who visited...

...and played a sweet duet with Brigs.

We love Spring and we are SOOOO excited for this weather!

We're So Vain

We got some new family pictures done...FINALLY. I was feeling really proud of myself when we showed up to pictures. We all looked nice, I had snacks for Ava...I was all sorts of prepared to have a wonderful picture experience. And then Ava decided she hated me. Seriously, she screamed almost the whole time.
For a baby who looks so good, you would think she would WANT to have her pictures taken.
Anyway, we managed to get a few that turned out. The peeps at Fotofly are AWESOME. Though, we were the first appointment and I'm pretty sure we ruined our photographers day. Whoops.

Ava's 18 Month's...Which Means More Awesome Hair!

I can't believe the Flav's is 18 months old! She is such a little character - She surprises me everyday with something new...for example, she decided to start saying "awesome"! Legit!
Here are some fun things about my little buddy!

New Words
She can say most everyone's name...except her own. Funny thing, whenever I try to get her to say Ava, she says "awesome"...sounds about right...

She can say most animal sounds.

We are working on greetings. Right now she says "Hi" and we are working on "Sup". She also says "Bye Bye, Love you, Day (good day)!"

Loves
This girl loves just about everything. She loves when I bring a new game or activity to her attention. She is so curious and LOVES to discover new things.
TV...which is weird because we don't really let her watch TV too much.
Everything Yo Gabba Gabba
Friends
Grandparents
Coloring

 Picnics and Tea Parties
Her baby...she is so cute with her baby. She will carry her around everywhere, give her kisses, put her "nigh nigh" and tuck her in with a blanket. She loves to take her baby for walks in her stroller as well.
Being outside. I am so glad the weather is turning nice again. We love going on hikes, playing in the backyard, using chalk, etc...
Hiking in the Red Rocks
Reading. She loves to be read to, read by herself, anything to do with books. We make LOTS of trips to the library!
Right now she is a Daddy's girl...bummer.
She loves getting treats...we don't give her very much sugar and when she gets it, her eyes get big and her mouth goes wide open. Hilarious!
Dancing
Doors
Throwing things away.

Dislikes
Wearing clothes...totally takes after her mom on that one.
Riding in the car...I think once she is big enough to face forward she will like it a little bit more.
Getting her picture taken.
This is a tantrum because I said I wanted to take her picture.
 Eggs...seriously...who hates eggs?
Church...the whole "sitting still" thing drives her bonkers.

Don't mind that her sweater looks totally saggy and gross...It was actually a cute outfit...
We love Flavs so much and are so grateful for to joy she has brought into our lives for the past year and a half!
