We Went Swimming in a Hopeless Place

Turns out, Ava HATES swimming. Which is weird because she loves the bathtub. It really is a shame because she looks supa fly in her suit.

We finally took her home and put her in the tub. She was happy then.

8 Months Old

Ava is getting so big. I seriously LOVE how chubby her cheeks are getting! We have loved this month...she gets more and more interactive and playful!

LIKES:
Fruit...way more than veggies. She loves a good fruit/oatmeal combo.
Itsy Bitsy Spider...It's probably because my voice is so awesome.
Blowing out her tongue
Jabbering
Sitting Up
Standing Up
Bath Time
Something new to play with
Reading with Mom

DISLIKES:
Bed Time
Getting her face washed
Getting dressed...still
Playing with old toys
Holding still

New Tricks

Ava has learned some new tricks recently. It's pretty hilarious. She has learned to spit out her tongue and make "trumpet" noises. She is making new jabbering sounds and she has learned to sit up by herself. She is also really close to standing up and holding on to something by herself. We have had to lower her crib because I found her trying to pull herself out of bed. I can't get any of the videos to work, so here are some pictures instead.

I know she is too old for a binky...we're working on it.
This is how we find her each morning...usually she is holding on to the side trying to stand up.

7 months...seriously?!

Flavs is 7 months old and I can't believe it! She is the world's cutest/busiest/silliest baby! She loves to talk to people she knows (it usually comes out in squeals and little chirps), growl at people she doesn't know (yes, she growls), and she loves to talk to herself. She usually talks herself to sleep. Apparently, talking wears you out.

Yes, she sleeps holding her legs...who doesn't?
She also loves to stand up. She grabs on to someones hands and pulls herself up and just stand there. Blegh. I think she needs a new hobby...one that doesn't require me to sit there for 30 minutes helping her stand up.

Best invention EVER. You lock your iPod in the case and the babies can't stick it in their mouths or drool on it but they can still play games on there. Neat!
She has started bouncing herself when she gets excited (you can see a video of that on facebook). She loves vegetables and bananas.
She is ALWAYS on the go. Seriously, she doesn't stop moving. Unless Baby Einstein is on, in which case, you get this:

We have loved getting to know this sweet little baby and we love how fun she is!

Visiting Erica and her sweet babies, Lilly and Bethany. Out of 50 pictures, this is the only decent one. Turns out, it's tricky getting 3 chillins to hold still and look at the camera.

Ava's 6 Month Update

I can't believe my Flava is 6 months old already! It seriously has gone by way too fast! I'm not sure what her stats are because we haven't had her appointment yet. Here are some of her likes and dislikes:
Likes:
Sweet Potatoes
Mommy
Playing with her Binky (not actually sucking it...taking it in and out, switching hands...)
Rolling over both ways. Seriously, this girl is a machine. Once she starts, she can't stop.
Sitting up. She is almost at the point where she can do it by herself with no support.
Peek-a-boo
Bath time
Little cousins who run around
Baby Einstein
Being held and cuddling
Watching mommy do Zumba (I can't tell if she's laughing because she's amused, or if she thinks I look stupid)

Dislikes:
Peas
Peas
Peas
Seriously, she HATES peas
Going to bed
Having her hair done
Getting dressed

Pooping
Socks
Loud noises
When mommy leaves the room

We love watching her grow and develop, but it makes me sad to see her getting so big so fast. I miss my little newborn!
Here are some cute pictures of Flava. I'm still trying to figure out how to upload videos.

First Time's a Charm....NOT

We gave Ava cereal for the first time. She had the typical reaction and gagged at first. The following succession of pictures shows "The Tale of the Cereal"...

Trying it for the first time....

Nast...Nasty....NASTY!
Mom saying, "For reals, eat it...NOM NOM NOM"
Mom giving up and giving her a bottle.

We also were able to finally get a ponytail to stick in Ava's hair. I think it's hilarious...I might keep it around.
