Some Summer Stuff - July Edition

Here's some stuff that we (mostly Ava and I) have done this summer. Maybe if John would quit working and stop providing for our family, he would get to do these awesome things...*John, don't actually quit*.

Hiking at 9-mile canyon with my parents and grandparents.

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Idaho Falls with our friends KC and Ashley and baby Kael...or "Kal-el" as Ava would call him. It was super fun...except for the part where John and I got super sick the day we went home and we had to drive 8 hours with the awesome sickness.

Seriously, who made that way cute outfit...oh wait...that was totally me.
Can we tell Ava woke up super early.

 At the firework show

Apparently, Idaho Falls has a zoo...it has turtles, which happen to be Ava's favorite at this moment.

We went to an Idaho Falls Chukar's baseball game.
KC put John and I's name in some drawing and we got pulled to do the "Build a Burger". We had to dress up like buns. John laid on the ground and I had to run back and forth to put the burger toppings on and then jump on top of him when I was done. We won. We got cool hats. Go Williams.

We went swimming. We also kept going down the slide that was "only for 4-8 year olds". Jerks.
This could possibly be Ava's husband. We aren't going to force her or anything, but if she doesn't, she's cut off.
On our last day there we went out to eat at this place with 1 FREAKING POUND HAMBURGERS. Seriously, it's a real thing. Anyway, we split one. It was good...until we spent the night and next day throwing it up.
When we got home from Idaho Falls we went to a Color Festival in St. George. Which apparently, is code for "Adult Finger Painting". It was fun though and Ava loved it.
She loved it so much that she pushed a plate of paint in my face.
 She thought it was funny.
I guess it kind of was...

Mini Vacation

Ava and I decided to take a mini vacation to Price for a little while before all the craziness of summer started. It was a lot of fun until I got food poisoning...then it sucked. But AFTER I completely emptied the contents of my stomach, it was fun again. We also got to go to John's step-sister's wedding which was awesome. We love being around family!

Ava got to see her Foster family cousins! She was on cloud 9 the whole time. We don't get to see these guys very much so it was fun to be with them for a little bit. Ava and Benson were best buddies the whole time. When they left, Ava would wake up every morning and say "Where's Ben?"

It just so happened that best buddy from high school/next door neighbor was in town that weekend too. We were able to get to together for a little bit before she had to leave town. It was pretty tricky trying to get these kids to sit for a picture.
John showed up to Price with his head buzzed, which apparently is what husbands do when their wives leave for 10 days. He said he was hot one night so he cut it all off.
Ava was kind of a beast during the wedding. The only way to calm her down was to let her watch the Lorax on my iPad...yeah, we're awesome parents like that.

Allie and John dancing...oh look, you can see the newly married couple dancing too...Oops. I guess that's the only picture I have of them...
These 3 were trouble makers the whole time.
All in all it was a fun trip. I will be home for about a week and a half before I head up north again and then we will be on our way to Idaho Falls to hang with KC and Ashley for a little while!
It's like a party all summer!!!!

At some point, I should turn in my homework...

May Randomness!

I've been so bad about blogging lately....Here are some highlights from May!

John turned 30! 30 never looked so good!
I had a great Mother's Day and I was WAY too spoiled.
Ava and I try to find ways to keep ourselves busy...
We go swimming...

 We make nature boxes...

We make tents in the kitchen and mess up each others hair...
 We cover ourselves in stickers...
And we find ways to be even more adorable...(which, by the way is really hard, but somehow we manage to do it)

Update on the Flavs

I need to be better about writing down everything that Ava does. She is hilarious and keeps John and I totally entertained! Here are just some quick things about our little babe.

Ava is so sweet and loving. She literally says "Hi!" and waves at every person we see...every....person. She will see kids at the playground, run over, give them a hug, say "Nice" and then they are new best friends. She also loves to give hugs and kisses.

She has become a picky eater! She LOVES any fruit and vegetable but she won't eat anything else! Her new favorite is to eat whole tomatoes.

She loves doing lots of different things and we have to think of new activities all the time to keep her entertained.
She repeats almost everything we say! I also love that she can tell me exactly what she wants, why she's sad, etc... We also have a "handshake". We do a high-five, knuckles, and then Ava yells "yeah!"
She also says some pretty funny phrases: "Is that so?", "Why so sad?", "I don't know", "Buddy, No!".

She can name almost all of her letters, give the sound, and identify her name, mom, and dad.

She constantly moves! She doesn't really watch TV...not because we don't turn on anything for her, but she has no patience it!

She loves to play with her "cesses" (Princesses). She will sing to them, make them dance, line them up, put them to bed....it's really funny to watch her get into this faze of using her imagination. Princesses, dress up, tea parties...that's our daily agenda.

She is pretty opinionated about her clothes. I will pull an outfit out and she will either get excited or start shaking her head and saying "no, no, no!"

Ava loves to help me clean...here's hoping this lasts another 15 years. She loves to put away dishes and silverware from the dishwasher, mop, vacuum, dust...the whole works! She will say "Help" and then tell herself "you did it" or "awesome" when she's done.

Ava is the best baby ever! She is so happy all the time. I couldn't have been more blessed to have her! Love her!
