Ava is 2!!!!

HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?!? When did my sweet little baby become a toddler?! I am so grateful to have such a saucy, funny little bear running around! I can't believe how much she has grown and I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing her personality shine! She keeps us busy and on our toes! Here are some things about our Flava!

LOVES
Water and swimming
Fruit
Playing with cousins
Talking
Letters and sounds
Counting
Reading
iPads/any electronic device
Bubbles
Nursery (Seriously, she hates sacrament. The whole time she is yelling for nursery and then when sacrament is done, she runs for the nursery without even looking back at us.)
Popsicles
Looking at clothes
Playing with her new kitchen (see whole thing here)
Dancing
Singing
Listening to music

Coloring
Running in circles...for reals....lots and lots of circles.
Gymnastics and Stretching
Wearing other people's shoes
Hiking/Exploring

Finding Nemo
Swinging and playing at the park

 Grandparents

DISLIKES
Changing her diaper
Flies or Bugs (She is terrified)
Getting clean
John's music (but honestly, who does?)
Leaving my awesome presence (again, who does? Just kidding, she's too independent to care)
AVAisms
She likes to put things in time-out (yikes). When we were driving in the car, she was playing with her toy princesses. I turned on some music and said "Ava, make your princesses dance!" She proceeded (very cutely) to make the princesses dance. Suddenly, she stopped and yelled "No Belle! Time out!" and put Belle in her cup holder. Apparently Belle's dirty dancing was considered highly inappropriate.

"Oh my goodness!"
"This a way."
"I sorry."
"Thanks, Cheese (please), and Welcome"
"Night! Love you! Good Day! Tommo (see you tomorrow)!"

She is like a little puppet and she repeats everything!  She says so many funny things all the time!

STATS
Weight: 25.4 lbs (25%)
Height: 34 in. (50%)

Ava is so active and is constantly running, jumping, dancing, bouncing, etc. We love her and we are so excited to watch her (and her head of beautiful, long, flowing hair) continue to grow.

DIY Kitchen

Here is Ava's DIY kitchen in (almost) all its glory! We have put a ton of time into this and it still has a few things here and there to do and some definite touch-ups that need to be done, but we LOVE how it turned out! I might play with it more than Ava does.

Before
We got this old dresser for FREE!

After
Ahhhh! It's so the best!

 Complete with chalkboard menu sign!

We are still working on the inside of the fridge.

Oh my gosh, what could make this more awesome......
 OH WAIT! A WORKING LIGHT!

I made that pot holder because I am awesome!

If I had any desire to sew life-size curtains, I might...but I don't. Luckily, these are mini!

Oh ho! Another thing I made! A cutesy apron to match!

The baskets hold her play food sets, which we are always adding to.

Overall, we were so excited how it turned out. We are even more excited that we stayed married while making this! Turns out, John isn't too excited to do these projects...OH WELL! :)

Some Summer Stuff - July Edition

Here's some stuff that we (mostly Ava and I) have done this summer. Maybe if John would quit working and stop providing for our family, he would get to do these awesome things...*John, don't actually quit*.

Hiking at 9-mile canyon with my parents and grandparents.

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Idaho Falls with our friends KC and Ashley and baby Kael...or "Kal-el" as Ava would call him. It was super fun...except for the part where John and I got super sick the day we went home and we had to drive 8 hours with the awesome sickness.

Seriously, who made that way cute outfit...oh wait...that was totally me.
Can we tell Ava woke up super early.

 At the firework show

Apparently, Idaho Falls has a zoo...it has turtles, which happen to be Ava's favorite at this moment.

We went to an Idaho Falls Chukar's baseball game.
KC put John and I's name in some drawing and we got pulled to do the "Build a Burger". We had to dress up like buns. John laid on the ground and I had to run back and forth to put the burger toppings on and then jump on top of him when I was done. We won. We got cool hats. Go Williams.

We went swimming. We also kept going down the slide that was "only for 4-8 year olds". Jerks.
This could possibly be Ava's husband. We aren't going to force her or anything, but if she doesn't, she's cut off.
On our last day there we went out to eat at this place with 1 FREAKING POUND HAMBURGERS. Seriously, it's a real thing. Anyway, we split one. It was good...until we spent the night and next day throwing it up.
When we got home from Idaho Falls we went to a Color Festival in St. George. Which apparently, is code for "Adult Finger Painting". It was fun though and Ava loved it.
She loved it so much that she pushed a plate of paint in my face.
 She thought it was funny.
I guess it kind of was...
